Public Talks
Stories from travelling with a pack pony.
I give illustrated talks about my long-distance journeys with Scarlet, my Dales Pony, exploring the landscape, its history, and the unexpected encounters we meet along the way.
“Roger had us enthralled with his tales of adventure. He showed real empathy and emotional understanding of Scarlet – all beautifully illustrated with quality PowerPoint pictures, and told in such a humorous and self-deprecating way. We were gripped throughout.”
Rene
“Loved your talk, Roger. Truly inspiring - you’ve motivated me to go and explore Dorset.”
Liz
“As a walker inspired by Roger and Scarlet’s bold plans to explore Dorset together, I cheekily intercepted them on occasions. Even for a few hours of shared route, moving through the countryside with man and pony enhanced every step.
Later, his calm and reflective talk about his adventure revealed just how this partnership changed Roger’s perspective and relationship with our extraordinary and ancient landscape.”
